Margaret Girle, Artist-Educator, Australia
About the Artist - Margaret Girle

Margaret Girle is an established Brisbane artist and registered teacher. She has exhibited and taught art in the greater Brisbane, Gold and Sunshine coast areas both within her own innovative "School Of Art Expression", and in numerous High Schools.

Working with a wide range of mediums such as oils, acrylics and pastels, the pieces cover a broad spectrum of subjects from sensitive life drawings to highly colourful and energetic paintings.

All of Margaret's artwork is imbued with flowing movement and a 'lyrical' quality. Her painted works employ colour and symbolism in perfect unison to inspire the viewer, while her sketches capture the essence of the subject.

Inspiration

Inspired by her three wonderful daughters, the beauty of nature and the lines of the human form, the wisdom of Ancient Cultures, and the amazing power of the mind, each of Margaret's artworks impart light, feeling and movement as well as a visual and spiritual story.

Raising her three young daughters alone gave Margaret the opportunity to truly know her own heart; the independency of finding her creative side, and the chance to travel and study (she gained the Bac. of Ad. Voc. Ed. during this time). Margaret worked in a multitude of industries.

Margaret has worked in a multitude of industries including the Airlines, Fashion Design, Modelling, Personal Presentation, and Education Industries.   An entrant in the Bayside Design Awards, Margaret then designed and tutored in her own style, presentation and motivation courses to High Schools and Business Colleges.

Exhibitions

Margaret's first major solo exhibition 'Life's Tapestry', reflected her personal philosophy that, 'Life is a tapestry of experiences and opportunities for self expression'. An artist is an instrument through which the Universe expresses itself when people take courage, let go of fear and allow life to flow.

She says: 'I believe that everyone has a creative side waiting to be realised. In order for humanity to move to a higher level of thought. We must celebrate the beauty, the positive, and the creative in life, in ourselves and in others; live in the present moment and act only from love, as well as visualising a healed planet. We have the power of choice. We can turn any negative circumstance into a positive - the true secret is in our thoughts. The answer to everything is within, nowhere else!.'

Margaret used symbolism to promote these words, in her exhibition 'ILLUMINARTA - A Celebration of Life, Dance and Angels', which was held in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, in 2006. The unifying feature throughout the diverse subject range was the light. Her aim was to inspire through subjects including Angels and latin dancing, the Geisha, and nature.
